More award nominations for solar Silent-Yachts
Coming on the heels of its nomination in the OCEAN Awards which we wrote about a couple of weeks ago, Silent-Yachts has been nominated as a finalist for the 2018 UIM Environmental Award Special Mention for “Environmental Benefit”. And as you can see from the image below, the company is no stranger to awards over the years.
The UIM is the Union Internationale Motonautique, world governing body of Powerboating and Aquabike/ Jet-Ski including Circuit, Offshore, Pleasure Navigation & Radio-controlled.
The organization launched the award to acknowledge that “every activity correctly conducted on water – large or small – can make a difference in the fight against climate change and help to solve today’s environmental challenges, from the decline in biodiversity to the unsustainable use of energy resources“.
The judging for the overall trophy is based on the criteria of economic feasibility, environmental benefit and greening the sport. In addition to the trophy the Special Mentions are for greening, innovation and environmental benefit, the category in which Silent-Yachts is nominated.
The 2018 UIM Environmental Award Trophy and the 2018 UIM Special Mention Trophies will be presented at the UIM Awards Giving Ceremony and Gala on March 23 in Monaco. The winners of the 2019 Ocean Awards presented by BOAT magazine and the Blue Marine Foundation will be announced in London in June.
Congratulations to Silent-Yachts in helping to lead the way in electric AND solar marine propulsion!
