2019 eJet 450 tenders to be delivered in May
The first deliveries of the new eJet 450 tender that was introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Boat Shows last fall are set for May of this year.
The tenders are produced by Avon Marine in conjunction with torqeedo electric motors and boast incredible technical and aesthetic specifications.
There is very little information about the Hydrojet technology that is driven by torqeedo’s 55 kW Deep Blue motor, but the results are pretty impressive.
The eJET gets to plane almost instantly, max speed is 31 knots and it gets 90 minutes of range at 23 knots, 7 hours at 5 knots.
It is all hooked up to the 30.5 kWh battery pack used in BMW i3 cars, and the system can be maintained and upgraded through internet connectivity.
On the looks side, there are hundreds of colour combination and other options available and luxury is the watchword throughout, with treats like electrically-retractable seats by Serge Ferrari that boast a quilted finish sewn by hand in France.
The video below is from the 2018 version of the eJet, but you’ll get the idea, I’m sure.
None of this comes cheap, of course. You can reserve your boat today with a deposit of 30,000€ (60,000$US) Then again, as J. Pierpont Morgan said, if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it. One of the selling points of the eJet on Avon’s website is that it is “an ideal fit for Yachts of 30m (100 ft) and larger”.
