Design Matters
Pure Classic joins Ultra Modern.
The singular streamlined design of the Faro5, by Tomás Costa Lima, combined with its functionality and sustainability, makes this boat the ideal choice for those who want to sail in style, autonomously, and 100% green.
It’s hard to think about elegance and glamour without being transported to the 1920’s. It’s no wonder its imagery gets dipped upon whenever moviemakers want to convey wealth, power and elegance, whether it’s a British MI6 agent pursuing his nemesis along Venetian canals, an American tycoon gazing at his private dock in Long Island, or a French femme fatale being driven from La Croisette to her awaiting lover aboard a super-yacht in the bay.
The sheer elegance of those wooden runabouts always seems to find its way into the big screen, and it’s not by chance. They’re beautiful in their understatement, sleek but powerful, ever modern in a timeless, classy way.
Tomás Costa Lima’s challenge was to capture that timeless quality of a perfect wood finish in an ultra-modern, streamline design that could be built sustainably. He pulled it off in style.
The outstanding properties of the rare Cryptomeria wood enveloping its deck are but one example of how sophistication, elegance and premium materials can still embrace the planet.
Each Faro5 is Unique.
The hull is carefully handcrafted using cryptomeria, a very particular kind of wood from the Azores Islands, where it’s forestry-certified. With innovative technology, we crafted a luxurious boat with a stronger hull and a lighter top deck that is fully protected by epoxy resin.
Absolute Quietness.
A forest, a lake or a coastline are never quite quiet. The reason why you seldom listen to them is your motor. But no such think as disturbing noise will come out of a FaroBoat. You will quietly sail through the sounds you really want to hear.
Zero Emissions.
Climate change is upon us. At the very least, anything we can do to fight it, we should. That is why Zero emissions is the hard limit at Faroboats.Guilt-free leisure boating at long last.
Technology
No robot can produce unique objects of adoration. Once programmed, they will either produce exactly the same object, or randomly produce things that can be nice, but often are exactly that – random. There is no machine capable of carefully selecting the right hue and vein of each Cryptomeria wood slate to match or contrast the previous one. So we do it by hand. Carefully. Meticulously. Lovingly.
Of course we use the latest tech to vacuum-infuse our hulls, making sure each one is rock-solid and unsinkable. And we naturally use RimDrive outboards because they are the most advanced solution in electric motors today.
Much like our design, we seamlessly combine the latest technologies with supremely human, ancestral savoir faire.
Our fibreglass and epoxy resins simply have to be the least harmful to the environment.
Industrial fibreglass and epoxy resins basically do the same job and are certainly less costly. But our environment cannot afford cutting corners, the time for that is gone. That is why we carefully selected our fibreglass and resins among the most environment-friendly. They cost more, but they are well with it. That’s also why we are constantly researching new materials and solutions to go one step further into sustainability; new organic materials and resins, new wind generation solutions and new mobility combinations are now well under our horizon.
We don’t manufacture boats.
We handcraft them.
A Faro5 is a Luxury statement. Each Faro5 is unique, and there should be no two alike, so we do not mass-produce them.
Extreme care, aesthetic judgement and attention to detail in each Faro5 cannot be replicated by machines.
“It’s all in the quality of the ingredients.”
How many times have you heard a famous chef state this? We took the same approach. No compromise. If you want to build a world-class boat, you need to find and procure world-class materials, no matter where they are, up to the last detail. The quality of each material, from a recessed cleat to the last bolt, is paramount to the quality of your experience.
