In 1968, Marshall “Duffy” Duffield placed the motor from a secondhand golf cart into the hull of a motorboat, launching the prototype for the first Duffy Electric Boat. Over 50 years later, Duffy Boats are cruising through bays and lakes worldwide with more than 4,000 individually owned Duffy Boats in the Newport Harbor alone. In addition to the Duffy Factory, Sales, and Service departments, our rental company is the only one owned by Duffy himself.
