In 1968, Marshall “Duffy” Duffield placed the motor from a secondhand golf cart into the hull of a motorboat, launching the prototype for the first Duffy Electric Boat. Marin D’Eau Douce offers a rental service for electric self-drive boats from one hour to a day. Our boats do not require any licence.
You can rent one of our twenty-two boats (which can accommodate a maximum of 5, 7 or 11 people) and enjoy some amazing and unique trips around Paris.
With our boats you have access to 40 km (64 miles) of waterways on the Canal Saint Martin, the Canal de l’Ourcq and the Bassin de la Villette.
On our terrace, before or after your trip, we will offer you refreshments. You will also find a selection of French products to enjoy your stops: French charcuterie, cheese, salads and appetisers such as French sausages and tapas.

Launched in April 2015. A new, green, electric powered boat available for a sedate guided river cruises on the River Medway in Tonbridge Kent. April 2015 also saw the return of rowing boats for hire. Both the river trips and the rowing boats will be available from the Big Bridge during out operational days (see below)
The electric launch “Enid May” will run trips in the Tonbridge area and is the ideal platform for photographing the area and the wildlife. The boat will seat up to 12 passengers comfortably and is safe for kids. Why not enjoy a relaxing 50 minute river trip or book for a private “voyage” either way you get close to nature and can glean some of the areas history from the skipper before finally returning to your starting point by the castle.
Founder and GM Robert Varness’ goal was to design and build environmentally friendly commercial boats to enjoy the pristine Alaskan waters with the 1M+ tourists that visit Juneau annually. In 2014 TREC commissioned naval architect Scott Jutson to design the MV Tongass Rain. She is a 50 foot 47-passenger 3-crew displacement catamaran, specifically designed to quietly cruise at 7 knots without fossil fuels.
