RS Electric Boats adds dealer, demo sites in 4 European countries

RS Electric Boats, which launched its multipurpose Pulse 63 RIB three years ago, has announced that it has a new dealer in Spain and demos available for electric boat customers in the Netherlands, Italy and France.

Spain

Nauta Systems was founded in 2021 by veteran oceanographer / yacht broker Daniel Schneider and naval engineer Adria Fradera, who is also an Assistant Professor at the Nautical Faculty of Barcelona. They have specialized in converting combustion powered boats to electric and hybrid, working with propulsion suppliers Oceanvolt, Rim Drive Technology, Temo and Torqeedo.

The Pulse 62 is the first already electric boat they will offer. “We’ve wanted to offer an electric RIB for some time and have now found exactly what we wanted with the Pulse 63.” said Schneider. “It is robust, reliable and does what our customers need it to do – deliver a high-quality performance while protecting the environment.”

One of the reasons the team like the Pulse 63 is that it was designed from the beginning as an electric RIB, not a RIB with an electric motor added. The hull shape was modelled not just for excellent sailing feel but also for speed and range. The boat has a top speed of 23 knots (27 mph / 43 kmh) and a range of 45 nautical miles (52 mi/83km) at 15 knots (17mpg/28 kmh).

Designing the boat around  the electric drive and battery pack also optimized the working space in the cockpit.

Fradera added that “The eyes of the sailing community are focused on Spain at the moment with the upcoming America’s Cup and this is an excellent time for that community to start taking electric RIBs seriously. They are the future and we are here, ready, with what we consider to be the best one in the world right now.”

Netherlands

Energyboats, based in Woerden, is an RS Electric Boats dealers and are now making the Pulse 63 – and the experience of electric boating – accessible to even more people by adding the boat to the fleet of Ribrental. org, whose slogan is “Professional RIBS ready to board at the dock of your choice!”

One of the benefits of the Pulse those RIB drivers will experience is the way the electric system and overall design provide increased acceleration, excellent manoeuvrability and low running costs.

“I first saw this boat, when it was in prototype,” says Duco Snjider of Energyboats. “but it felt good right away…the vision behind the boat, the people who developed it, the sustainability of the materials used and the different versions.”

“Yes, we have been working on the Pulse 63 for over four years,” says Alex Newton-Southon, RS Electric Boats’ Design and Technologies CEO. “and in the past year companies like Energyboats have made several test sails and had several demo versions in their events. This is important because the Pulse has been further developed through feedback from the real life experience of companies like Energyboats.”

The Pulse 62 is available in four versions that are optimized for different uses – Leisure Boat, Superyacht Tender, Workboat and Coach Boat. Snjder continued “In our view, the Pulse 63 really meets a need. As a sailing coach or supervisor, you can easily spend a day on the water with the Pulse 63 and carry out your work without having to recharge.”

In addition to rentals, the Pulse 63 is expected to be in use during the Dutch Water Week, The Ocean Race, the World Sailing Championships in The Hague and the Pride in Amsterdam.

Italy

Negrinautica is one of Europe’s largest watersports distributors, based in Milan with a facility on Lake Como.  CEO Pietro Negri is an avid sailor and hosted a conference earlier this year at which the goal was set to see the north end of the lake’s sailing events facilitated by an electric RIB fleet by 2024 at the latest.

Now Negri and Davide Casetti have purchased a Coach Pulse to set things in motion. The company is offering others the opportunity to trial the Coach Pulse in the stunning surroundings of the Italian Lake District. Inquire about demos at info[at]negrinautica[dot]com

France

A similar demo program is also underway in France where customers will be able to access the Pulse in Hyres, Marseille and Lorient come late April. This one will be available to trial by contacting Nico Honor from RS Sailing France.  Inquire about demos at nico[at]rssailing[dot]com

“The speed at which the market is taking to the Pulse 63 underpins the quality of this electric rib,” says Jon Partridge, RS Marine Group CEO. “We’ve known it is something special since we evolved our previous iteration into what buyers get today. This is all down to the strength of RS Marine Group’s close synergetic relationship between its component parts. We learn from, and support, one another across the board, always working to our key aim of making everything we do as sustainable as we can.”
